I hate the phone!

I hate phone call with a passion.  Just the idea of talking by phone is igniting my hatred.  The idea of picking the phone to do a phone call freeze me solid.  I think that the phone is the worst invention even created.  As a teenager, I wasn't a great conversationalist while on the phone.  The only place where I did some effort was at my grandma's place.  Family was worth the effort of being nice over the phone, with some cringing with two persons.

The reason of my cringing while talking with those two?  They were shouting in the phone.  The oldest one was the worse.  I knew that in old time, the phone lines weren't that good.  On long distance, shouting was probably a necessity.  When I could head loud and clear the other person shouting while the handset at arm length, it was overbearing.  Too much for me.  Those people must have a course on modern phone operation.  No longer the need to shout over the phone.  It is my biggest repellent when it come to communication over the phone.  By chance, I haven't encountered this in a long time.

Another thing I hate is when a person call in, ask for the lady of the house and use my boyfriend family name.  I hate that!  I may be picky but I feel that the other person did a basic research in the phonebook and didn't go further.  They aren't going on to ask my family name.  So, when this happen, now, I say there is no woman with this family name living here.  It cut short the phone call.  It is nice. to have this solution.

I hate doing phone call.  Why?  I find it is leading to a formal conversation.  I also feel that I have to get my thought organised and going on the target fast. I am not a fast person when on live conversation. I find it worse on the phone.  I have to get all the message on a limited timeline.  If I forget something, I have to call in again.  Not that pleasant.

This lead to another thing that I hate.  Now, it seems to be a trend to put the answering machine, probably to filter message or because the person is contantly busy.  It add a filter and a delay in the conversation.  The other person have a control to talk to you or when to do it.  I don't have a pleasant time with it, especially when I have to explain a situation or give some informations for the person to call back.  I am always affraid to forget something.

For all those reasons, I do hate phone and phone call!
