The Muses - A Power Team

While reading Apollo by George O'Connor (https://www.amazon.ca/Apollo-Brilliant-One-George-OConnor/dp/1626720150/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&qid=1489368192&sr=8-27&keywords=george+oconnor).  I remembered how the Muses are a powerful team.  They are the supreme beings when we talk about creativity.  They are the source of inspiration.  Each ones have a specialty.
Calliope  Epic Poetry, Stylus and Tablet
Clio History, Scroll
Erato Love, Poetry and Mimicry, Lyre
Euterpe Lyric Poetry and Music Double Flute
Melpomene Tragedy, Sword, Sad Mask
Polyhymnia Religious Hymns, Pensuve Stance, Veil
Terpischore Coral Song, Dance, Plectrum and Lyre
Thalia Comedy, Shepherd's Staff, Smiling Mask
Urania Astronomu, Globe
I think that the list vary slighly depending on the source.

I find amazing tjat a group of people thoughts on fictional characters who are linked with inspiration.  It's creating characters who are the masters of the creative life.  It is like a circle: real life people shape 9 divine being who takes charge of inspiration that have an impact on their creators and other peoples in return.  It makes me wonder how people cames up with myths, legends and stories.  How the idea came about for the muses?  Did someone says «Eureka» and boom, the muses came into existence?  was it a bit by bit revelation as storytellers where adding their magic to the mix?

The personification of inspiration is attractive.  It is an abstractive concept.  We can't touch it, can't smell it, can't see it.  Is is something totally mental.  Personification help understand inspiration.  Inspiration is fascination.  I hope to learn more and more on how it work into this world!
