I like to hijack items from their intended use. I found some nteresting uses for common items. It is mainly in cleaning.
Here are 9 surprising household cleaners:

Use Ketchup to clean (beware french fries!):

Not the least: 10 uses for dish soap:

I don't know if all those hacks work. Seems worth to try. Most of those ingredients are of common uses. I just like to broaden the uses of some common items.

Can I sit down and create?
There are time where daily worries takes over creation time. Once in a while it happen. I just not like when it happen when I have ideas. Right now, I have a few projects that I would like to do: one involving woodburning, one is a text for some paperwork, one is doing some revision on my last nanowrimo and I have to stop here because ideas bring ideas.
I am starting to think that I will have to plan my various creative projects during the day. Morning is a no man land for creativity. I am not a morning person. I do not really function. I know that evening is best for writing. Afternoon could be for projects like woodburning. It is the kind of plan that needed to be tested. It is looking good on paper. It have to be tested to see if it will work as planned. It just that I don't lived in a perfect world where I can execute my plan as I had planned.
Even the best planned day can be screw up by something unexpected. I also find it hard to start what I decided to do. Once started, I am okay. Well, I know how I work. I am also able to get thing started when I feel the need that something had to be done.

Did I miss this news? On planets and gold.
Mythology and astronomy goes hands in hands. Just saw this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QVK2Tv209hU It seems to be a ninth planet and it is farther than Pluto. I wonder what name will be chosen for that new planet. There is many major Greek/Roman deities that had not been taken. I would also like to know why they will choose the name that they will choose. I just hope they will confirm this news quickly enough and I hope to stumble on that news without delay. Science seems to go on various gears depending on the area of expertise.
In the same vein, I feel I had miss something on gold: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chw6La8PKv8 The gold in electronic was not a shocker but number one was. I never had guessed that gold had an extra terestrial origin. I thought it was made like any other metal on earth: deep in it's crust. It don't changed my mind that much. I just feel more informed on gold. I probably keep that information as fun trivia. I am more an silver gal. Gold are for those who appreciate it. There are also people that gold suit well with their skin tone. I never worked with gold when I took the jewelry classes. I wonder if working with gold will make me appreciate it more, at least on a artistic level.
So, today, I feel some delay between my brain and the news. It doesn't occur often. I feel that the news on an hypotical planet had slip from me. I like this kind of news or having new trivia fact. It can slide into my fiction wrirting. It also fun to use that in small talk.

Adult content and creativity -- PG 18
I am the first to admit my mind can be having lot of fun on a certain adult theme. Yes, I talk about sex. I think it can be say for anybody: there are certain themes were each person's mind find easy to be playful or creative. From experience, I came to thought that my mind and sexuality had a comedic routine going on. Maybe I should put that on paper one day.
I don't think I am the only one that had a funny streak with sexuality. I just stumble on this: http://www.about.com/health/topic/have-better-sex. It unite some articles on having better and sexier sex. Should not surprise me, sexuality is so much present in our daily lives now. It is just proving me how creative people can be on this topic. It also makes me feel that some people may feel the pressure to have good sex. The link prouve it and I am sure it is a good seller. Sex is everywhere for a good reason. Many ads and various magazine expoit that. Porn too. Good cash flow for the minimum work, so it seems.
It is nice to have information that are real and practical. On the other hand, I feel there is a line where sexual guides can become more a burden than beneficial. People can be unsecure when it come to sex. Guides that promote great sex life can put some pressure on the unsure. I tend to run away from topic that promise to better a area of my life. When it does, I do find it phony.
Well, I just could go write my experience and thoughts on sex and go hit the jackpot. I always says that some goes for the cash. Yeah, very cynical about money (and very under the radar). I now have proof that I may have success with my idea: http://www.voltaire.net/fifty_shades_of_greys/ If one can unite extraterestrial and sex, I can do something interesting.

Tiny lifeform with huge impact
There is a famous song on lifeform from one of the movies on Star Trek: The Next Generation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWBmaKk32fE
It was a great idea coming from a character that is a «artificial being». Not enough to make me forget that I don't like catching something with bad bacteria and viruses.
I then see this:
http://biology.about.com/od/bacteriology/ss/8-Surprising-Things-You-Didnt-Know-About-Bacteria.htm
It was a bit surprising to learn that some weather is influenced by bacteria. It just start bad enough: staph bacteria weaks point is human blood. It does not start well the countdown. I almost turn around and almost not goes further. As I say, catching bugs is not the most appealing thing around.
Mentally, I know there are bacterias that does a good or useful job. Probably the same with viruses. I just doesn't know enough on the subject. The beneficial side is not often seen. The area where I get most problem is when I am sick (like thowing up or have a upset stomach for example). Then, there are strange effects: I feel slower. I also have nice strange dreams. I like nice strange dreams. I feel the impact on my creativity. I can't do as much I want to. The mind still work but it is foggy.
Small organisms, huge impact. It is wat I feel right now...

Mythology
For me, mythology had been a source of marvel and of inspiration. The cultures that had their mythology where really creative. They came up with gods, goddesses, heroes, monsters, stories, a whole world in itself. I just would like to stumble on other mythologies than Greek and Roman. Each time I did a search on mythology, I finded infos on Greek and Roman mythologies. I don't have anything against those mythologies. It is those two mythologies that made me enter the mythic world. I am at a point where I feel a good grip on Greek and Roman mythologies, I just want to expand my horizon and I feel a bit hard to do it. There is so much written on Greek and Romans myths and deities that the rest seems to be masked by it.
I am grateful for ancient Greek and Roman cultures to have brought up their worldview through their mythologies. I got a lot from it. I had characters and stories inspiration from there. The Hermaphrodite myth (marvelly told by this song from Genesis: the Fountain of Salmacis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE3dYof_rbE) had a huge impact on me. It had inspired me. I also like the Trojan War but it haven't inspired me anything yet.
Greek and Roman mythologies had a huge impact on our civilisation: language (erotic, aphrodisiac, panic), on the technology (like all those projects from Nasa like Apollo), most of the naming of planets and moons (I know, there is a few exception). It is the two example I am thinking right now. What amuse me now that I found a bit confusing at the beginning is some mythological name that are similar: for example Theseus and Perseus. Their names are similar but their feast are different. Theseus is well known for the labyrinth and the Minotaur. Perseus is better known for slaying Medusa. Another thing that makes me smile: how accurate the ancient were in naming the planets whithout all the knowledge we had now. It was also fitting: the planet Mercury is the fastest of all the planet, Neptune is looking like an big ocean, Uranus seems made of air, Jupiter is the king of the solar system, Saturn is the Lord of the Rings but the rings seems to put limitation on that planet. What amused me the most: Mars the god, Mars the planet and in french, Mardi is the day of Mars. I love to play with Mars that way.
So, mythology is not just a bunch of stories. It show how people where creative in the past. They didn't have all the technology that we have now. Storytelling was the ancestor of the social media we now know.

Trends
I found an article on coloring books for adults: http://bestsellers.about.com/od/nonfictionreviews/fl/Whatrsquos-Up-with-Coloring-Books-for-Adults.htm
It seems to be gaining in popularity. I would say that it is a no brainer. Usually, crafting and coloring are relaxing. It is what I feel in a project, whatever I am doing. So, it is nothing new to me. What I like less is feeling left behind when it comes to crafting trends. It is what I feel about the coloring books.
I wonder if there are news' sources for crafty people. Sometimes, there is articles that are here and there on that topic. I do have my sources for jewelry making. I do not have any sources for the other crafts that I am doing. I have found this: http://crafternews.crownpublishing.com/ I have to have a deeper look at it. I do not know if they are follow trends.
I am a nerds when it comes to news and trends in crafting, jewelry making and arts. I am a bit more passive, leaving the news coming up to me but it would be nice to be a bit more active especailly when it comes to trends. It help me to broaden my minds and sometimes, only a spark is needed to trigger a idea.

Philosophy of art
I just looked at an show on erotic art on tv (http://arterotique.artv.ca/emission/). There are interview of modern artists that are doing erotic art. They talk easily on their art. It seems to flow and they know what they are doing on a intimate level. I find that kind of artists are kind of lucky or that they think a lot. Being in their place, I would not fare as good as those artists.
I have a few themes that comes on a regular basis for my writing. I have a vague idea in the genre of my jewelry making. It is based on some of my favorite materials. I am unsure if I am on the right track. Do I really into this genre? Do I respect the genre? Did I recpect the public I have choosen for my piece of work? I do have a lot of doubt, really unsure of myself. I don't think I would be much articulate on my work.
It isn't life treatening. I am able to do my stuff anyway. I don't think that I will have an interview in the foreseeable future. It is just that I envie a bit the artists that are more articulate than myself. In a sense, knowing your artwork is to know oneself. I may not know my artistic mind well. I may delve into that one day. I am not in a hurry.

David Bowie
This morning, I learned that David Bowie died. Having cancer is not rare. Not everybody survive cancer. I thought he had one that he overcome a little while ago. Maybe I mix up and condense news. Memory can become blurry with time. The timing is kind of ironic. For sure, his last album will sell pretty fast, I am sure of that.
Another legend dies. His legacy is one of creativity. He was a magician that combined an unique look and good music. I think it is a feat. His career seems to have evolved fluidly and he had reinvent himself many times. He was not condemned to his Ziggy Stardust period for the rest of his live. It is something rare.
I will retain the memory of a creative person. He didn't seems to put limit on himself. He was known to be on the avant-garde scene. I think he is one of the few who had created timeless songs. His songs are among the classics. I think it is what made his success. It was not a formula to reap the most money with the less amont of time. His songs will stay catchy for a long time.
I remember that I discovered him in the '80. At the time, I found him to be different. The first video I saw of him was Blue Jean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTYvjrM6djo
Rest in Peace David Bowie.

Color
Up to now, I never really put my attention toward colors. It was not my main focus when I was creating items like jewelry pieces. I didn't made any researches on colors when doing these project. It was a bit of happy go lucky when picking colors. I had been lucky that the colors I pick up were going well together.
Now, I am ready to invest a bit more on choosing colors for projects. I have a color wheel. It look similar to that one: http://www.amazon.ca/Color-Wheel-Small-Mixing-Guide/dp/B002V5AZQ6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1452048529&sr=8-3&keywords=color+wheel
It is a good start. I will go complete with this place on color 101: http://color.about.com/od/Color-Basics/
I may find another place for the color 101.
It will probably be a learning process. For sure, I want to be more conscious in choosing my colors. I want that color takes a more important role in my projects. A few projects may start with colors. I do not know if it will turn as I expect. I will learn, for sure. I don't know much on how to match colors. I am not an expert. I will experiment. It is the best way to learn.

One done and one failure
I had end of the year resolution. Well, it is done. I had done the soaps and I have decided it will be for those who want some. I will do some more for myself a little bit later. I think the soap's coloration is a great match:
Working with silicone mold makes the process a breeze. I am getting good at doing batches of soap. It goes well, only to keep an eye when it is in the micro-wave. It is in the micro-wave, while heating that takes the most time. The rest is quickly done.
On the other end, the kuhuhimo is less successful. I thought I had mastered it only by looking at a video. Wrong line of thought! Working from memory doesn't work at all. I also thought I had books that had section on showing kuhuhimo. Wrong again. So, an humble experience. I don't have any result to show. So, I have to do it right and see how it is done before doing it myself.
Overall, end of the year resolutions works. The only thing that I have to be careful is to know my techniques before doing an end of the year resolutions. Otherwise, I am happy with two out of three projects. I am tempted to do it again in the end of the year. Or do a set of project with a deadline. It work well with me.

Photographic frustration
I hate to admit that I take some failure hardly. It is the case with photography. I tried to take a photo at night time. I forgot the little I learned during my introductionary class on photography. I forgot it takes more time to take a night photo. I did not expect to take one either. But what I wanted to photograph was hard to resist. It was a street lamp and falling snow. It was so nice. I did not have any foothold for the camera. So, I learned the hard way how hard it was to hold the camema without moving it.
Here the best photo I got from the expericence. It was the first one and I am not happy with the result.
I could not even get the snowflakes under the street light. To add the insult to the injury, I got the refflection of the tv. My self esteem had taken an hard hit. It motivate me to get better for photos at night time. I am sure there are ressources and informations for this kind of situation. For sure, next time I will take a photo at night time, I will be better informed!
