Thinking about teachers.

I have encountered a lot of teachers as I took various classes.  Be it school or crafting classes.  Not all teachers are suited to be teachers.  Some seems to be more likeable or they deliver their knowledge easily.  What made me think about it?  This video on cartomany and playing cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVwBukF7VyA  It is a first part of a serie.  A teacher is not always the one in front of a class, in school.  There are other part where there are teachers.

I like taking class, especially crafting class.  I like doing that because I feel I learn more with another human being.  I can ask question, see how a craft is done in front of me and I can learn how to amend for error I have done.  It is not always the case when learning from a book.  In books, there are the bare essential.  Books are great for information and recipies.  It just don't explain errors done by the human being reading the book.  Books have limits.  They can't answer question too.

To be a good teacher is not given to everybody, I think.  It is not easy to be a teacher.  I am not an expert on the qualities needed to be a good teacher.  For sure, knowledge on a topic is not always equate with being a good teachers.  Another thing I learned: Being rigid (like explaining always in the same way or similar terms) in giving the class material is not helping students learn.  The last thing that I remarked: non formal class like crafting class, teachers seems to be more at ease and they seems to be good teachers.  Maybe there is no stress with non formal classes.  Maybe it may due to craft being artistic to begin with, so no big theories.  My guesses are as good as anyone else for that matter.
