Two finished barrettes

I have been a lot into fimo beads lately.  Today, I am taking a break from those beads.  I have finished two barrettes with hex nuts.  I have put some glue on the side, where the macrame cord exit the holes of the barrettes.  I also have cut the excess cords for a better finish.  Now, I am able to properly use them in my everyday life.  I like those barrettes.  I is why I have done and still do them.

I may attempt to do a larger pattern for the larger base of barettes that I have.  It would worth the try.  For those two barrette, shown above, I wonder if I will paint them.  It would be a preventive measure against rust and it will protect them.  On the other hand, with the experience that I have with those that I have the painted treatment, the paint start to go away, pieces by pieces.  I will have to paint them again and adding the transparent varnish on top of it.  Not a big deal but not always easy to go in the small crevices.  By chance, I am not in a hurry.  I still have time to think about that small decision.
