Branches and Armpit

Trees are really a source of wild thinking, it seems.  There are a few trees where made me think of armpits and hair.  The trees I am thinking about seems to have big branches that look like arms.  They also have smaller branches that grow near the big branches.  It look like those trees have big arms and they have small bramches-hair growing from their armpit.
Here what the trees look like:

I know that those little branches under the big branches are tiny and barely visible.  I still have some amelioration to have before getting what I see unto the camera.  It woulc be time to get some classes to improve my photographic skill a little further.  A few pieces of additional equipment would be good too.  Otherwise, I don't know how I could think of associating branches and armpit.  I don't do drugs even if I occasionally drink absithe.  My strange way of thinking was well developped before my indulgence into absinthe.  Well, if I have to write about a tree and if I have to describe a tree, I will have an vivid  and accurate assotiation.

Fimo and embrodery floss

I have decided to try embrodery floss with fimo beads that have small holes in them.  It is as good as fishing lines.  Both seems to be equivalent.  The scale, in my experience doesn't tip one way or the other.
Here what it look like:
Here is the project I like the most:
I know: it is a long necklace but I think that brown embordery floss with green clover like beads are a good match.  So, I will have a choice between fishing line and embrodery floss next time I do a project involving fimo beads with samll holes.  I will go on the effect I want to have and the matching of colors.  Of course, if I choose the fishing line, it is because I don't want to show that the beads are on a string.

An interesting fimo bead

I found an interesting fimo beads that I have integrated into a project.  There is a front part and a back part.  I left one side as is and the other side have a silver backing.  I should do more often when I do fimo beads.  It look so cool especially with the color of fimo I choosed with the silver backing:

Fimo beads with macrame cords

I have more success with fimo beads that have larger holes.  For them, the best is macrame cords.  Both of them, when possible, is easier.
It is fun doing those projects.  It was easier to put the cords in the bigger holes too.  It was a breezed compared to the fishing line.  The fishing line can have it's advantage but I was a bit tired to wirk with it.

Still working on it

I still have to work the bond between fimo beads with a small holes and fishing line.  Here is a few fails.  Some of them don't really looked at their fullest.  I should had put samll beads between the fimo beads.

It doesn't really show on all the photos but there can be a gap between the fimo beads.  I haven't mastered the spacing between the fimo beads while using the fishing line.  A work in progress...

Satisfaction

I had a problem with fimo beads: too much small holes.  It is a ganeral problem.  To solve it, I have used fishing line.  Here are two projects where the combination of the two are a success:
Those two projects are the best representative and the best looking ones made of fimo beads and fishing line.  The other ones are not as god.  The fishing line is effective with small holes.  I think I should stick with the fimo beads shaped like the ones on the first photo.  It is the best combo between fimo beads and fishing line. I will keep it in mind when doing new batches of fimo beads.

The three photos are honorable mentions.  I like the end result but there is something that bugs me in those projects: be it the shapes of the beads that are not to my satisfaction or how the results look like.

Two finished barrettes

I have been a lot into fimo beads lately.  Today, I am taking a break from those beads.  I have finished two barrettes with hex nuts.  I have put some glue on the side, where the macrame cord exit the holes of the barrettes.  I also have cut the excess cords for a better finish.  Now, I am able to properly use them in my everyday life.  I like those barrettes.  I is why I have done and still do them.

I may attempt to do a larger pattern for the larger base of barettes that I have.  It would worth the try.  For those two barrette, shown above, I wonder if I will paint them.  It would be a preventive measure against rust and it will protect them.  On the other hand, with the experience that I have with those that I have the painted treatment, the paint start to go away, pieces by pieces.  I will have to paint them again and adding the transparent varnish on top of it.  Not a big deal but not always easy to go in the small crevices.  By chance, I am not in a hurry.  I still have time to think about that small decision.

Lot of bracelets and necklaces

It is amazing what I can do with those fimo beads that I was able to do.  It was a good thing that I got them out of storage.  It was more than time to get them out of the cobwebs and use them.  I got some good ones and ones that I should have work a little bit more on.  Giving more work on some should have been something I should do a bit more sometimes.

I don't know what I will do with those fimo beads yet

While I was browsing in my fimo storage boxes, I found a few beads without any ideas in my head.  I don't have a clue on how to use them.  Not for now.  I probably have to do some thinking about them before I get the perfect project for them.

The first ones makes me think of blank pieces of fimo.  There is no hole in them, so I can't use them with a string:
The same reasons goes with the little man figurine.  There is no hole in him and I think I had done that figurine just for the fun of it, without any idea of what to do with it.  I guess I wanted to see if I could do it.  In the end, it had been a success.

On the cute side, I have also done three little doggies with the same sense of experimentation as the above figurine.  I made holes in the side of the biggest one of the three. Getting done something out of them is a little bit more sure that the above photo but not sure if it will work out as I want:
Lastly, I made a few bunch of alternating layers of different colours (blue and green, black and yellow).  There are the ones that I called the «bees» (the black/yellow ones) that are pretty big.  Too big and I admit I was excessive for them.   The green/blue one is more interesting and more manageable.  I could get something out of the green/blue one.  I just have ti find out what to do abotu it.
I thought about doing barrettes out of those beads.  I don't find them fitting enough for the barrette.  I wasn't satisfied with the trial that I have done.  There are holes in them but for the «bees» ones, they are quite large.  I will have to do some mental workout with them to find a solution.

Beads, beads, beads, so much of fimo beads!

I started to get more interested in my fimo beads.  It even seem to be the main topic for this week.  I took all the round bigger beads from my storage.  I didn't took the very tiny ones, reserving them for a later use.  I didn't realize that I have so much of those kind of beads:
I have a lot of beads.  I can make a lot of bracelets and a lot of necklace.  I could do them with various lenght.  I could use beads of the same color or use various colours.  I have a world of possibility in front of me.  I have a lot of choice.  Lot of fun ahead of me.  It is fun to have all that choice.  It will free some space in my storage, so I could do more fimo beads.  I start to miss doing it.  The photo doesn't show the dept of the box nor the beads in the bottom.  But there are a lot of beads in this box, for sure!

amazonite imitation

I'm just done with a bracelet.  For it, I used fimo beads that I have made.  What is interesting with those beads is they look like amazonite.  I don't know if I could do those beads again.  For sure, I should have done more.  It isn't an fancy bracelet.  I used the beads and an macrame cord.
They are not big beads.  I didn't break my head with this project.  I just put the beads on the macrame cord. I zoomed on the beads when I took the photo.  I wanted to get the priority on the beads themselves.  They are not perfect and I don't mind too much.  It is the colors that I found more interesting.

barrette's frenzy

I found some materials to make barrette.  It was quite quick to do and easy.  I was, also, able to finish some glue that I had for some time.  I wanted to max out what I could do with the glue before it expire.  I was able to do a lot of barrettes.
I think I may have done it over the board.  I like the result for those with the flowers and gummy bear.  The ones with the cabochon too, even if the cabochon are not perfect.  I don't know if I could do the cabochon with a better technique.  I used a mold but it was a rigid one.  It wasn't easy to get them out of the omld to put them in the oven.  I done the same for the stars but they are worse than the chabachon.  I won't do the stars again.  I think I would have an idea for the cabochon.  I could do a ball and cut it in half.  Worth the try.  I will have to remember that when I will do fimo, next time.

What was nice what to finding larger bases for barrettes.  Useful to know if I have large beads to put on a barrette`s base.  I have used a lot of my reserve of barrette's base.  I will have to shop for them again soon.  It will be on my list next time I go for a shopping spree.
