Coming out good

My projects with the tye dye came out pretty good despite having dirty tinted hands from the dye:

The only drawback are the black baseball cap.  They didn't came out as I wanted.  They look too much faded.  I am tempted to buy some spray and put it on them, just to accentuate the colour.

I did some tye dye recently.  The error I made: not using the gloves included in the kit.   My hands and forearms were a disaster:

It took 2 days to get less blueish, getting more on my natural hand colour.  It took longer for the tint around the nails to get out.  It take a week to get to normal.  In addition, it is not very helpful to do the tye dye in that state.  It get messy.  I have learned my lesson: better have the glove than having graphic arts on hands!

Still finding new trees

I seems to have an obsession with trees.  Or it is an weird gift to find them.  In any case, I found a new one:

It alsmost feel it is waving an hand.  It grows strangely.  The place is serene, from what I can see.  I took another photo from the surrounding of that tree:

The tree stand alone.  Should have more trees in that kind of place.  It is something that I find missing in parks: not enought trees!  Put some more trees!  It is not just good for me, it is also good in heat wave, it drop the temperature accumulated by the asphalt.  Having being raised in a wooded area, I have a need to be surrounded by trees!

It's a fail right now -- working with metal

I have some leftover silver from my jewelry classes I took near my job.  I decided to use one piece that was pretty much all used up.  I cut the pieces in smaller pieces.  It was messy.  Not just the silver dust but with the saw blades:

I have not attained the relax state that sawing metal bring.  I am not at that level.  Saw metal is more a stress for me, since I had my classes.

Here are four pieces that I want to use as earring:

I have pierce the holes for the rings and hooks.  The pîeces need to have more work on them.  I will have heat them too.  I want to have some relief on them.  Motivation is hard right now.  I don't have every tools and I don't have advices.  It is what I miss from the classes I got back then.

There is one longer piece that I cut:

This one will be shaped into a ring.  I wish those projects were much easier to do.   It had been a long time since my ckasses.  I may be due to find another place that allow me to do my own projects.  It may be a problem.  I know a place but it is a bit far away from my place or my working place.

On the meantime, I will try to work on those pieces the best I can.  I have an idea that I want to try to work on them.

Trial -- Weaving Sticks

I decided to try the weaving sticks:

I wanted to use this yarn (for crochet):

Then, I realized that the yarn was too fine for the sticks.  I also discovered that I have the thick version of the weaving sticks.  There is a thin version of the weaving sticks and I found it on the compagny website: https://www.clover-usa.com/en/search?controller=search&orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=weaving+sticks&submit_search=search  There is also an video on how to use the weaving stick there.

By chance, I found a yarn that was more fitting to my thick weaving sticks:

I didn't like the big knot, so I put the same smaller knots on both side:

It is intesting.  I just don't know if I will be interested in the long term.  Maybe by finding the right projects, I will be more interested.  What I like: it is quick to do.  I guess that someone who have some dyi infused handyness could do the sticks themselves.

I would like to create my own space

There are time, I would like to create a special hideout, a personal spaced taillored just for me.  Here would be the access to my small space:

Of course, there would be two room in there, one to let me in the place, where I could place the seasonal extra clothes and a space exculisvely for crafting and inspirational works I want to do.

Finding new beads

I like finding new shaped beads.  Maybe I may miss ones that are already available.  I have a few components that I want to turn into earrings:

Shells are always a good purchase, in my book, especially if I like the iridescence.  I also found heartshape beads that I never saw before:

They are just right: not too big, not too small.  There is no motif on them.  I am not sure that I will buy more but they will certainly will end up on a project or two one day.  I like it more when it is in the silver colour!
